They didn’t get their authority from any established source, but by virtue of their passion and potent speech, their capacity to see the world as it is and as it could be, and by their ability to inspire others. So they were people who had a vision of a world where everyone counted- coming out of the covenantal tradition- but who were not accountable or restricted to any established order...."
